This multi-page knitting pattern, complete with photographs, provides detailed instructions to create elegant button up winter leggings for women or young girls. The design provides exquisite lines for a classic and traditional Aran look. Skill Level: Intermediate
Some leggings are casual, some elegant. These leggings were designed to complement the Cable and Moss Stitch Button Down Vest and the Fisherman's Pullover with Shawl Collar, both designed by Tracy Zhang. The reason for the buttons is not to forbid the pull on ease of leggings, but to provide an alternative in case you want to wear them outside boots. Also, the panoply of buttons adds a bit of intrigue and a splash of color.
Things you need to knit these leggings:
Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool or any yarn that meets your color and gauge requirements
Size 6 (4.0 mm) needles
Size 7 (4.5 mm) needles
Size 7 cable needle
Tapestry needle
16 buttons, approximately 5/8" diameter
Sewing needle and thread
