This is a poignant true story of love lost. It begins with the central person 'Harry Blake' as a young boy in pre-world war 2 years. It takes the reader through his troubled childhood and eventual voluntary enlistment into the British Army. It describes Harry's accident that saw him 'invalided' out of the army and his inability to function as a normal person. It goes on to describe how He meets up with a beautiful young woman, Celia, whilst working in the Spitfire factory in Birmingham. This romance leads to the birth of little Tony, then a subsequent little girl, Valerie. Sadly because of Harry's mental decline, Celia and Harry part company. Harry goes on to meet Aggie in a convalescence home; where she is also recouperating from a debilitating ailment. Eventually Harry marries Aggie, but never really forgets about Celia and her two children. Aggie has a daughter, Pam then a son, Paul. Harry always compares his two families to the detriment of Aggies' two children. Paul becomes a consummate violinist, but gives it up just to upset his father. Eventually the two families meet through a website, then they meet up in person when Tony and his wife Wendy travel back to England. Whilst there, Tony found out all he ever wanted to know about his father, whom he never met; and was able to share so much about his mother, Celia, with Pam and Paul. The book culminates with Pam taking Tony to his father's grave. Then Celia in Australia with her son Tony.
