The prophet Haggai spoke to a people caught up in building their own homes while neglecting the work of the Lord. They missed the blessing of God because they did not put Him first in their lives.

Zechariah challenged his people to live in the reality of a coming judgment of God. He spoke about the incredible love of God and reminded them of a day when Messiah would bring to them a rich salvation.

Malachi addressed a people who had lost their joy of worship and service surrendering rather to the temptations of the world. He told this rebellious people that the day was coming when their Messiah would refine and renew them, bringing a day of great repentance.

These were days not completely unlike our own. The words of these prophets speak as powerfully to our culture as they did in their own day. Each chapter is concluded with a series of questions to consider and points for prayer to help the reader apply the truth of these timeless prophecies to his or her own life.
