Song of the Raven is a story for children about life and death in Alaska's wilderness. I originally came up with the idea when I was explaining to my children why our dog Snicker had to be euthanized. I wanted to show children that death is a natural part of life, and although we may feel sad about it, sometimes it is for the best. In the wild, animals depend on the death of another for their own survival. Hopefully, I have been able to show death in a very positive way in Song of the Raven.
