Cordelia Bolivar has an idyllic life until tragedy strikes, sending her to live with an aunt and uncle she barely knows in the quaint southern town of Savannah Oaks. Distraught and withdrawn, Cordie finds solace on the balcony overlooking the large Live Oak in the center of the field where the haunting sounds of a melody are heard. Alone in the heart of the South, Cordie slowly begins to adapt to her new life realizing the one she left behind in New York will never return. Soon, her inquisitive nature gets the best of Cordie, and she finds herself drawn into an age old battle between siblings during the Civil War . With the help of her newly found friend, Cordie sets out to right the wrongs of history and must decide if her destiny is to stay in the past with the man she loves and break the heart of her aunt and uncle, or remain in the present and leave her destiny unfulfilled.
