The M.V. Apollon, a Greek pleasure ship which was chartered by the Kuwait Petroleum Company to temporarily house the firefighters for the Al Awda Project of the royal government of Kuwait, lazily docked at the Shuaiba seaport of Kuwait in the Persian Gulf.
The Al Awda Project, or The Return Project in English, was aimed to put out all the burning oil wells, oil refineries, and oil lakes in Kuwait.
