This is a collection of short novels dealing with the people in the family, family situations, living under the roof of a family, thinking so rubbing with each other and who happen to be in such situations. There is a Singapore flavor where Chinese, Tamils, Malaysians all living in Singapore in unity in all the three short novels in this collection. First deals with the Indian workers and a servant maid. The second describes the sufferings of a young lady who has come down to Singapore, with twists and turns. The third one keeps Singapore as the field of Japanese rule. Feelings and emotions of each of the characters has been portrayed beautifully. (குடும்பத்தை - குடும்பச் சூழ்நிலைகளை - குடும்பம் எனும் ஓர் கூரையின் கீழ் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டும் வாழ்வதாக நினைத்துக் கொண்டு ஒருவரோடு ஒருவர் உரசிக்கொண்டும் வாழ நேர்கிற மனிதர்களைப் பற்றிய குறுநாவல்களின் தொகுப்பு. சீனர்கள், தமிழர்கள், மலாய் மக்கள் என பல்வேறு இனத்தவர் கலந்து வாழும் சிங்கப்பூரின் வாசனையோடு அமைந்திருக்கின்றன இதில் இடம் பெற்றுள்ள மூன்று குறுநாவல்களுமே. முதல் குறுநாவல் இந்திய ஊழியர்கள் மற்றும் பணிப்பெண் ஒருத்தியைப் பற்றியது. இரண்டாவது குறுநாவலானது சிங்கப்பூருக்கு வந்திருக்கும் ஒரு இளம் பெண் படும் துயரங்களை திடுக்கிடும் திருப்பங்களுடன் சொல்லிக்கொண்டு போகிறது. மூன்றாவது குறுநாவல் ஜப்பானிய ஆட்சியிலிருந்து சிங்கப்பூரைக் களமாகக் கொள்கிறது. ஒவ்வொரு பாத்திரத்தின் துல்லிய உணர்வுகளும் நயம்பட வெளிக்கொணரப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன.)
