The Jewish community were living under the Roman rule. The Jewish people felt oppressed by the Romans. Jesus was born during those oppressive times. The people heard of him and they thought that he would emancipate them from Roman rule. They thought that he was their Messiah. However, his mission was not to fight a physical battle but a spiritual war.
He reached the end of his days on this earth and the drama of his persecution began. Judas started the ball rolling. The Roman governers could not find fault in him, yet the Jewish high priests wanted him dead.
The roman centurion who had to crucify him had a problem, his family were following Christ's teachings. He had no choice but to crucify Christ. After the crucifixion, his hand became a problem to his mental well-being.
