Why civilization? The answer marks the first singularity, the contradiction of all that went before. Our current Lebenswelt is not "the Lebenswelt that we evolved in". "Everything that we evolved to be" passed through this singularity. Social complexity was no longer constrained. We forgot who we were. We had to define who we are.
