This issue of COMPEL provides an overview of the topics discussed in particular sessions of the ISTET 2013 conference. The selected papers cover many sub-disciplines from the area, including goal-oriented algorithms for optimization of electrical devices and their structural parts; the placement and sizing of active power filters; application of numerical differential and integral methods in solving several different tasks; and a new approach to nondestructive electromagnetic testing.
