Shawn travels to New Orleans to learn more about the rebellion and is nearly killed as he investigates involvement by an American company seeking to profit from the war. As bombs fall outside Baton Rouge, President Jolliet calls a gathering, and final efforts at peace are made as people choose between carbines and calumets.
