A lot of people travel overseas for various reasons such as, a working holiday, to attend lan-guage schools, migration and studying abroad. A lot of ex-pats think that they will gain a good command of the language and learn the customs of the place automatically once they move, but that is not always the case. The author has lived in New Zealand and Singapore for 18 years and interacted with such ex-pats who are on the move again regretting not be-ing more prepared when they first moved. Preparation in finances is important, but prepar-ing for how to be accustomed, to be settled and to learn the local culture is the most im-portant preparation that one could have before making the move. Before studying abroad at a young age became trendy in South Korea, the author moved to New Zealand with her teenage daughter and became the first generation of 'goose mother'. She was looking for 'treasures' in living abroad and written her thoughts and experiences in this book. The aim of the book is to help ex-pats to prepare for living abroad, especially with a young family.

This book is good for parents and children who want to become a global citizen. There are details cases, thoughts and advice in the book, and is suitable to be used as a lecture materi-al.
