This book is an attempt to design a new curriculum and suggest for the development of a new syllabus for English language teaching in schools in Libya. There is also an attempt to show how the Libyan student can be helped to be a better learner of English. The main objectives are: first to undertake a critical review of the existing curriculum, pointing out its advantages and disadvantages; second to identify the problems that learners and teachers face and to suggest how they may overcome them; and third to propose a new approach to improve learning
