The objective of this ebook is to present contributions that adopt both external and external, macro and micro approaches and highlight some of the complexities in defining the multiplicity of concepts that have built up around sustainability and CSR in the context of HRD. The articles presented in this ebook, combined with our analysis, demonstrate that HRD has a valuable and emerging contribution to the sustainability and CSR discourse, both in theory and practice. It is currently something of a 'black box'. A focus on sustainability and CSR highlights that it is necessary to view HRD at a multi-level of analysis. HRD research and practice can make important contributions to understanding the antecedents, processes and outcomes of sustainability and CSR.
