This is the story of a young boy, Bear Heart, who wants to join his father on a hunt. He is a member of an American-Indian tribe but only men can go on the hunt. However, his father agrees to take the young boy with him to look for the buffalo, so Bear Heart can learn more about them. Bear Heart learned a lot about buffalo that day and even tracked one with his father. However, when the big buffalo they are tracking sees them, it gets very angry. What will happen next?
