Chapter 1 discusses why forts are built. Chapter 2 discusses the basics of building a fortified area. Chapter 3 offers ideas to build defensive towers that are portable to a large extent. The framework is portable, the armor is largely earthworks built around the frame. These are superior to trenches for defense of troops, cleaner, better fields of fire and morale boosters. Chapter 4 offers the opinion that shields should come back into combat. Body armor and shields should be interchangeable through piecemeal construction. They should have multiple usages such as portable stoves (if feasible), dog carts (man carts) to haul backpacks in an alternate manner. They and mounted personnel carrier shields give greater range of fire and better reconnaissance. I trash the enclosed armored personnel carrier as fantasy security and metal coffins (spam in a can.). Chapter 5 discusses deep penetration of the earth by mole machines, earthquake warfare, and deep citadels immune from nuclear attack.
