Peter an eleven and a half year who's family was personally affected by the 2008 economic shift. His father's company moved out of the country for inexpensive labor and overhead costs. Changing how money was used and spent in their household, this was the first time in Peter's life he could not have what he wanted when he asked for it. Clouded by the lavished lifestyle his parents gave him made it difficult for young Peter to understand why he could no longer just receive what he desired. His mother trying to make light of their situation she blurted out that "the politicians took your allowance." These words along with his father informing him about their debt as well as their credit has changed what Peter will and will not receive. Peter did not like these politicians coming after his money and why his? He thought to himself "I am going to get my money back." In the process of Peter only thinking about what he wanted, he spent more time with his grandmother and kids in his new neighborhood who showed him that giving to others when they are in need is the best feeling in the worlds, and true friendship never comes with a price.
