Aging writer Oscar Zymzec is facing the harsh reality of the end of his career; troubled by the lack of paying work, a nagging wife, and a heart condition that never allows him any freedom from his pills. As he struggles to meet deadlines for his newspaper column, he must also endure constant emotional abuse from his bitter spouse. Eventually he gets distracted by a mysterious beautiful woman, who seems to be continually driving past his home in a bright yellow convertible.
