"An Ideal Husband" is considered to be one of the dramatic masterpieces created by Oscar Wilde. His other most significant play is titled "The Importance of Being Earnest."
"The Importance of Being Earnest" is considered as most popularly produced play by Oscar Wilde.
According to the playwright, he started writing "An Ideal Husband" in the summer of 1893. In the same year, later that winter, he completed the writing of the play.
"An Ideal Husband" was first published in 1899. When it was first launched on 3rd January 1895, it ran for 124 performances. Unfortunately, Oscar Wilde got arrested in the month of April for 'gross indecency.'
