In a time before heroes, when tyranny rules the land, four teens are chosen to bear ancient Sigils, which suddenly appear as magical tattoos on their bodies. Together, they must battle the forces of darkness and end the reign of the dark lord, Draedan Sifferus, as they learn to unleash the power of their Sigil weapons. The young bearers soon learn that they must journey across the lands of Austrand to the four quadrants in an effort to unlock the power of each Sigil. They must first travel to West Asprus to find the birthplace of Vasserine Deloria Kildri's Sigil, where she discovers the origin of the black tattooed marking around her neck, which, when unlocked, gives her the ability to speak to animals and roar like a thousand dragons. Follow Pim the Knife, Reev Onid, Deloria Kildri, and Estra Dane in their race against time to unleash the powers of their Sigils before the ancient evil known as the Void breaks free of its bonds beneath the Urthe to destroy their homelands.
