Differentiation
Determine how many buildings and cards to work with based on the student's learning level.

Large buildings : Students work cooperatively to build a community. Pass out buildings and places and students construct a town using a large counter or the floor. Evenly distribute the matching cards and ask students to place their card below the appropriate building or place which it best goes with. (teacher should model the task first)

Small buildings: These may be used a table top activity with small groups or individuals.

Printables:
Bulletin board: Students color a black and white printable and display it on the bulletin board to create a community.
Homework: Student chooses a place and takes home their place to color for homework. They explain what they recall about the community place and people and things associated with the place.
