This motivational interviewing intervention has broad application for all health care providers, medical social workers, educators and other human service practitioners. It allows for the facilitation and implementation of motivational interviewing strategies within five group sessions. This group process and approach elicits and effects positive change in the lives of people struggling with life choices and personal behaviors, affecting their overall health, wellbeing and functioning. *Note – throughout this manual “changing your problem health behavior” can be any problem health behavior / lifestyle change (e.g. Substance abuse, smoking, eating disorders, fluid intake, diet changes, stress, exercise, taking medications, and managing other health concerns).
