Now, a major city in the Midwest, three centuries ago Saint Louis Missouri was in the St.Louis territory on the Mississippi, still owned by France about to become the Louisiana Purchase. Pierre Laclede ventured up from Louisiana along the river to settle at his crucial landing spot. From there things would change forever. WIth wit and wisdom of a both worthy and French-endowed businessman, the territory would be the immediate jump-off point to the west. His thinking and ability to have such prescient knowledge, would create the westward expansion point for pioneers and settlers. The west would be established by this benevolent city, and the entire area would in some way be touch, benefited and owe gratitude in so many encompassing ways. Down through the centuries, the city would shape and be shaped by this elaborate consigning. An epic, that reveals how America and its cities west of the river would be established, grown and given historical bestowal...
