At the same time that students are learning about the history of the Empire State Building, they are meeting the Common Core Standards for English Language Arts by:

  • strengthening vocabulary, decoding skills, and comprehension of informational text
  • following written directions to strengthen comprehension of functional text
  • creating and utilizing maps, graphs, grids, and other diagrams to clarify text
