The FTC Franchise Rule: Analysis and Commentary, Second Edition, is intended to serve as an analytical tool and a comprehensive, practical guide for franchise law practitioners, including "old hands" and those who are new to the practice of franchise law. It serves not only as an important resource for understanding the provisions of the FTC Rule, but also includes additional source materials essential to the interpretation of the FTC Rules disclosure requirements. The Second Edition focuses on the requirements and prohibitions contained in the FTC Rule. Since the original publication of this book, much has been written about the Amended Rule. For example, the FTC has clarified many of the disclosure obligations under the Rule. It has also issued guidance on the application of the Amended Rule and its provisions to various situations. State regulatory agencies as well as NASAA have also provided guidance addressing how the Rule affects state franchise laws as well as the filing requirements under those laws.
