In "Ripples From the Darkness" the poems expand ever outward toward crescendos of the sacred and the macabre, madness and the holy. The currents start small with childhood follies, then roll outward toward tales from the hood, and loves found and lost. They swirl around beautiful and frightful goddesses in the land of myth. The crescendos begin with the face of God whose gaze destroy mortal men. Then comes the cascade over the edge into the abyss beyond even God. We then encounter a Little Book of Horrors where the ripples roll back again from the light into darkness. Once more the eddies start small with the absurdities of "Dr. Frogenstein" - then ever expand past tales from the crypt, terrors from space, the Countess of blood, the man who sold his soul - until they reach the final crescendos in the shadows of the supernatural. At last with Imitations of the Holy the ripples emerge again into the light: traveling the dangers of the hood, the mysteries of the Far East. Then comes the final culmination in the Second Coming of the Christ.
