"The Boy Who Wanted Love" is set in a small town on the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Lucia named Soufriere. The story is about a woman who gets raped by a family friend and as a result, becomes pregnant with his child. Because of her Catholic faith, she decides to not have an abortion. Instead, she looks upon her son, Samson, with disdain. She eventually marries a firefighter who treats her son with love and respect, as if Samson is his own. During her marriage, she befriends a young man who is entering the priesthood, causing havoc in her marriage and her extended family. She ultimately begins loving Samson, only after the young priest intervenes with a secret. But does the love for her son come too late and at too great a price?
