Jayne uncovers a sinister side to her job. She investigates, her workplace burns down, she ends up in court and her friend Jon is brain-damaged. During her self-discovery and through to a bittersweet conclusion, Jayne demonstrates qualities she never thought she had and grows from a shy, downtrodden adolescent into a worthy, if imperfect hero.
