From the introduction:Although I am better known for my prose, I do occasionally dabble in the odd poem or two. This collection uses my day job as a background: I'm a teacher and believe me, the field of education is ripe with enough oddities to fill more than this slim volume. I threw a few other pieces in as well, just for fun.The poems that follow are arranged topically rather than chronologically – kinda-sorta. Some might seem like strange juxtapositions, but their placement just seemed to make sense to me.It is important, however, that you, my dear reader, understand I did not hate my job. Reading these poems might lead some to that conclusion.
