In her autobiography Joyce Grenfell wrote, 'I have a pen-friend whom I have never seen Her name is Katherine Moore' Their correspondence began in 1957 when Katherine wrote to defend a poem Joyce had criticised on the radio Although they never met they soon became firm friends and were to share their experiences of life, their ideas and their reading until Joyce's untimely death
