From the outbreak of the First World War to the end of March 1920, official Army records records state that 346 officers and men were executed following court martials in the field During the last decade a sense of uneasiness has arisen regarding the circumstances surrounding these deaths The author has made use of evidence which has recently come to light, and shows that many men were treated with injustice and inhumanity
