An adventure in the discovery of history. When the wreckage of an old warplane is discovered in a remote area of North Thailand, the author's attempt to identify the aircraft and its mission set him off on a hunt that went on for almost ten years. A lot of history was uncovered – and some old mysteries solved. Interviews with pilots of the famous American Volunteer Group (AVG) Flying Tigers, members of the OSS – the forerunner to the CIA – and with officers of the Anti-Japanese Free Thai Movement, give a first-hand look at colorful aspects of World War II history that were little known in Thailand and even less so to the world outside.
