There are a number of things which almost all human beings that have walked on this planet have had in common. Ever since he first hauled himself upright and stopped dragging his hairy knuckles along the forest floor, man has pretty much both suffered and enjoyed the same emotions year after year, century after century. Down through the ages - for millennia in fact - men, woman, and children have, from time to time, felt the unsettling mental torment of unknown fears, the energy-sapping effects of pure terror, the exhilarating emotions of loving another, and of being loved, the reassuring affection of faithful animals and the uplifting and lightening joys of laughter and fun. For one old Irish fisherman, the laughter and fun ends abruptly when he finds that the difference between heaven and hell is just one wag of a tail.
