Things looked bleak for fifteen-year-old Paige Parker and her friends. They got arrested for drinking alcohol, and the judge threatened to throw them in the county's juvenile detention center for thirty days. At the last minute, however, he decided to take a different approach, and he ordered them to join a softball team. He hoped softball would keep them so busy they would stay out of any additional trouble. At first, Paige and the other girls hated it, but when their team, the Missfits, started to get good, the fun officially began.
