In the time of the Vietnam War, if you were a young man coming of age, you had two choices: Be drafted to Vietnam, or join a department that Vietnam had no use of. I chose the latter, and joined the Navy. It'll be fun, they said. See the world, they said. Well, it wasn't all fun and games.
