Bobbio's Mix is a sleep stealing novel in verse, a mix of story and lyric with the sprung rhythms, rhymes and vision of hip hop. It explores the life of a brilliant young black man from hardscrabble Mississippi who gives up a university honors scholarship in his final semester (double major: chemistry and philosophy) to deploy his chemistry education and training in the perilous drug trade driving the hip hop lifestyle until a terrifying intrusion of Voodoo from his past.
