孟子，中国古代著名思想家、教育家，战国时期儒家代表人物。孟子继承并发扬了孔子的思想，在政治上主张法先王、行仁政；在学说上推崇孔子，反对杨朱、墨翟。成为仅次于孔子的一代儒家宗师，对后世中国文化的影响全面而巨大，有"亚圣"之称，与孔子合称为"孔孟"。
