"The monsters that were afraid of children" begins with a humorous exchange between a younger brother and an older sister, as the pre-school boy finds a monster in his room and calls across the hallway to his sister for help. This is a book meant to be read to pre-school children to minimize their fear of the dark. In this story the monsters are afraid of the dark, and for reasons that make no sense. As the book progresses, the children find less and less reason to fear monsters. This is also a good book for elementary-age children, to teach them about e-readers.
