Fay is a sweet and simple nurse. One day a famous movie director, Lew, proposes to her after meeting her for the first time. Lew tells Fay that he doesn't believe in love, and he only wants to get married because he is tired of living alone. Lew asks Fay to be a good wife, and nothing more.
