The second of the Lobbs Bottom novels: Mid-September 1955
Beryl is happy.
Darren seems to have resigned himself to his fate.
Everyone in the village of Lobbs Bottom now regard them, as being a couple of young teenage sweethearts and life is moving on at its normal slow pace.
It is Beryl's thirteenth birthday and Darren needs to come up with a unique present for her. Speaking with her parents, and gaining their approval, Darren selects the present he thinks will make her happy.
