The year is now 2020, and Eli and thea have been taken hostage by DARPA, whose experiments with time travel are wreaking havoc on history. Clyne, meanwhile, has been captured by a traveling carnival that may have connections with the Danger Boy project. When Thea starts to exhibit symptoms of the deadly slow pox virus, Eli agrees to travel to the war-torn ruins of ancient Jerusalem, where a cure might exist. But what happens to history when Eli, Thea, and Clyne meet up with the prophet Jeremiah, the healer Huldah, and an entire city full of scared and angry survivors?
