Engineering is the science that takes mechanical, electrical, material and other related principles of physics into account to manufacture innovative devices and products that serve human needs better. Engineering analysis is the process for verifying an existing solution. Engineering design is a creative process that is the essential source of all new engineering devices and products. Both engineering design and engineering analysis apply the knowledge of science and technology and involve computational methods to convert natural resources into devices and products that are useful to humans. Consequently, computational methods in engineering design and analysis are the most common and essential skills of engineering problem solving. This ebook presents 14 papers selected from the proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Engineering and Technology Innovation (ICETI 2012) which was held from November 02 to 06, 2012, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung E-DA World in southern Taiwan. It covers a wide range of fundamental studies, computational approaches, and technical innovation by applying the knowledge of engineering-related science, technology and techniques, especially in mechanical, electrical, communicational, and bioinformatics fields. It is expected to be a key issue related to advanced computational methods and technical innovation in engineering design and analysis for industrial engineers and academic researchers.
