The Ills of Saardu is a beautifully imagined story of a troubled genius in a pristine world that is mysteriously facing an ecosystem failure. His forbidden love affair with the king's chosen one pulls him out of commission when this one-in-a-million scientist is needed most. Simultaneously, his world becomes home to hundreds of humans suffering neuroses caused by generations of confinement in a spaceship in the barren vastness of deep space.

The artwork featured on the cover is the work of Ludovic Leleu (@ludopencil), specifically for the author's Saardu story. It conceptualizes the Saar minaret temple on a cliff overlooking the only waterfall on the planet, and the three moons of Saardu at an important juncture, nearly aligned, which is a rare occasion celebrated because something special happens.

The story you have here in this e-book is a copy of the author's first novel, the first draft of that novel, written in 1984-1985. The original 253-page manuscript titled The Ills of Saardu was registered with the US Copyright Office. This e-book includes a certified copy of the confirmation page. Anyone can obtain a copy of the original manuscript (for a fee), by submitting a request for The Ills of Saardu, Registration Number TXu000197171, dated 17 May 1985. This is a true copy of that manuscript. Only minor corrections have been made.

What inspired this writer to rip 253 pages from her mind and put it out there for the world to see? Find out in her next book, Zenyans Among Us by GC Herzenity.
