"Lorah's Place" is the sequel to "Lorah's Promise."
It has been five years since Lorah and her family emigrated from Ireland to the Dominion of Canada in 1868. For the last four of those years, she has been helping Doctor Fitzpatrick in the small settlement of Maplegrove.
Lorah is determined to honour the promise she made to her brother Will to become a nurse. She is excited to begin the next stage of her training in Toronto, but her excitement is short lived as she comes face to face with the surly Miss Ogden, who has other ideas concerning Lorah's future. Devastated by this setback, Lorah vows to prove herself to the cantankerous nursing supervisor, but her enthusiasm sometimes lands her in trouble.
Will Lorah be able to overcome the many obstacles thrown in her way?
Will she be able to eventually prove that she is worthy of being a nurse?
