In 2010,cousins, Sam, Oliver, Will, Lilu, Fynn, Ethan, Coco and Tilly meet at Gordon Farm for Oliver's ten year old birthday. Playing hide and seek, they unearth an old chest belonging to Captain Samuel Rundle, captain of the Gordon Mae paddle steamer. After building a time machine, the unexpected happens and the cousins are transported back to the Victorian Gold rush of the 1850's. Eight year-old Lilu wakes to find herself and her sister Coco as young adult owners of Hopwood Ferry's Fancy Goods Emporium and it is only then that they all begin to remember their former lives.
