Angel Walker arrives home to help her Aunt May in her bed and breakfast. Before arriving in the Annapolis Valley, Angel had been scarred by a divorce with an abusive husband. Needless to say, she is a bit skeptical about men.
When she meets Jake Jordan, who she had known when she was a child, she wants to believe that not all men are like her ex, James. But when Jake asks Angel to go golfing with him, she freezes up, remembering the terrible times when she and James had golfed and how he had berated her and drove her to tears.
Can she take another chance? Her aunt May thinks it is worthwhile to try. Angel stuffs her fear inside her and decides to give Jake a chance. Will he turn out to be a different sort of guy? Or will he be just like James?
