141 expert tips for teachers (or would-be teachers) is intended for anyone who is currently teaching, training to be a teacher or has been asked to share his or her knowledge, whether in a formal corporate setting or a less formal setting, such as in a church or synagogue.

This book isn't intended to be a comprehensive "here's how to teach" manual. Indeed, effective teaching is more caught than taught. Instead, this book is a collection of tips I've picked up in more than 20 years in the classroom, including eight years at the university level and seven years in corporations. I'd like for you to learn from my experience instead of having to reinvent the wheel.

What makes this book unique is that I not only share what to do that has worked for me over the years, but also what not to do, that is, ideas I've tried that simply didn't work out as well as I had hoped. I also tell you about many potential problems you'll face in the classroom and how to stop those problems in their tracks. Furthermore, I tell you about potential caveats and, again, how to overcome those issues before they become problems.

This book is full of practical hints to improve your teaching, including:

  • What "dislecture" means, and why it's a powerful teaching technique

  • How to use the K U A P learning path

  • What "dressing one up" is, and why every teacher should do it

  • What the 20-60-20 rule is, and how it applies to your classroom
