Sharbat is a sweet drink and it is generally served chilled, though in some parts of the world, there are other tastes and different flavours which are not exactly sweet.
Sharbat in its thick form can be eaten with a spoon but in most of the cases it is preferred in its liquid state. Most of the sherbets are diluted with water to drink with a straw.
Rose, sandalwood, bael, hibiscus, lemon, orange, pineapple, and grewia asiatica, etc are generally used to make most of the popular sherbets.
People in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India enjoy these drinks almost every day and they have different varieties of sherbets. It is also believed that sherbets have their own curing properties and in Ayurvedic treatments of certain physical ailments doctors prescribe certain sherbets.
In this book we have given the recipes of some of the most popular of sherbets and they are easy to prepare in your own kitchen.
So, be your own bartender and prepare these cool drinks in your own kitchen.
All the best
