Ryan and Vanessa Morgan have the perfect life, idyllic some would say, until someone steals it. A dark character from Vanessa's past, armed with a camera, a knife and a sick gruesome mind, plots to reclaim what he feels is his. He stalks her, photographing her from every angle and fantasizing about the day when she'll be his. Once he kidnaps her, he expects her to return his feelings, but the opposite is true and she shuns him, making her physical revulsion obvious; he begins to turn violent. Months pass, and as Vanessa continues to resist his advances, he vacillates between loving her and hating her enough to kill her. The police come up empty handed, so Ryan turns to PI, C.J. Malone, but when she disappears, and several key investigators on his wife's case are murdered, he knows he's in this fight alone. So is Vanessa.
