Frank and Celeste met many years ago during their freshman year in college. The attraction was instant, strong, and mutual. But racial differences compounded Frank's shy demeanor, insecurities and social inexperience. Bad timing and Frank's acute tunnel vision combined to cause a life-changing humiliation for Celeste when she went out on a limb for him.

Now the two of them meet again through their friends Miles and Shauna, and the attraction is stronger than ever. Only Frank isn't shy, insecure or socially inexperienced anymore. But Celeste isn't so careless with her heart as she once was. In fact, she's not so sure she wants to be in a relationship at all-much less with the guy who once so thoroughly messed with her young head.
